Hello All, Have a problem running Easypal Digital SSTV program. I am running Windows 10. I have loaded the program in with no problem but when I click on the icon to run it, if gives the famous error code 0xc0000142, program did not start properly.

I have tried to run it on TWO Windows 10 machines and both give the same result. One machine is my home unit, the other is my at-work machine.

I have tried everything that I could find on the net but nothing so far has worked. Clean installs, registry clean of files from trying multiple installs, setting LoadAppInit_dlls to 0 in the registry, running in compatability mode for XP through Windows 8, downloading separate new versions of the 3 dll files in Easypals folder, etc. Has anyone found and fixed this problem? The newest version of Easypal is now almost 4 years old and I do not think anyone has done any maintenance on the original program except the author who I thinks has since passed away? Dean K6DDJ Did you try installing it as Admin? No, I don't know if that will fix it, but it does not hurt to try.

Hi, Yep I sure did try that but same result. I just may have found the solution. I read on another forum a different problem another fellow was having with EasyPal. The reply suggested installing it in a different folder instead of program files which is the default of EasyPal installations. I just tried installing it into a new folder I created called hamradio and tried to run it. You know what? IT NOW RUNS JUST FINE!!

I have no reason why it fails when put in the program files folder in Windows 10, but the fix for another fellow also fixed my startup issue. I hope this info here will help so other hams with similar problems. Dean K6DDJ Logged. Hi, Yep I sure did try that but same result.
